We have two shows coming up. On 10/25, we’ll be at Kennett Flash (in Kennett Square) opening for Derek Webb; on 11/3, we’ll perform at Philly’s Ortlieb’s alongside our friends in Lucky House.
Here I am rehearsing for a performance in a remote town in Washington state's Cascade mountains. The name of this song is "Sarah's sisters".
Here’s us performing atop Philly’s Steele building.
A few months back, we recorded a set at a rehearsal space in West Philly (about nine people were able to squeeze in to listen). The lighting was manipulated, and the A/V recorded, by Soren Wagner. The audio was mixed by Daniel Kaplowitz. We're very proud of the results. Below is a video of “Iridescent”. You can watch the whole set here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6Hlzoz2FogYOLa_pENHsMaNTfSm-uadE
Here’s me fulfilling a request for “Looking for a Man”, from our EP, Samantha Says. (Philadelphia residents, we perform at Brewery ARS this Friday. The event is free. We go on at 7:50 p.m.)
It's been an eventful spring and summer for us. While I haven't managed to post here regularly, we've been performing often. We had what I think was our best performance ever a few weeks ago on a rooftop in Center City Philadelphia. It was Beatles-esque, and also lovely given the dusky, 8:30 p.m. lighting.
Above is a video of "Out of the Lion's Den, Into the Lion's Maw" from our show last week at the subterranean Tralfamadore. For those of you in Philadelphia, we'll perform a set at Brewery ARS at 8 p.m. on August 16. The event is free.
New Music Video
We're beyond excited to share a music video for “No Compass, No Map.” We shot it when it felt like -20 degrees. Thanks a bunch to Jeff at Treblezine for premiering it and, of course, Bob Sweeney for filming and directing us.
Dan Drago invited me to chat at length with him about The Chairman Dances for his (truly excellent) podcast, 25 O’Clock. We had a great time talking, and I think the episode reflects that. Many thanks to Dan for inviting me to be a part.
A lovely couple asked us to perform a set of our music at their wedding. We obliged. We also helped with the chuppah.
We played a great half sour, I mean half hour set at the pickle, met lots of wonderful people. Thanks to Soren and to Courtney for the photo.
Hi, Philly - we'll perform Saturday at Pickle Rehearsal Studio. There will be a light show. (This event is $5!)

Our latest performance, which includes some stunning video projections, is now on YouTube.
Additionally, I have a PSA for Philly-area people: our 3.21 show was moved to Boot & Saddle. If you bought a ticket to Milkboy, it will be honored by Boot & Saddle. Here’s a link to the event: https://bootandsaddlephilly.com/event/ten-f%c3%a9/
I’m happy to announce our friend Bobby Pharaoh will project and manipulate images throughout our set this Friday at S. Philly’s The Pharmacy. In this video, I’m having fun with a synth/drum machine. On Friday, our Dans, Kevin, Maria and Will will build and steer the ship. #spaceship
Next Friday (2/22), we'll be at S. Philly's The Pharmacy with our pals Night Windows and Camera Thief. It's been a few months since we played a show in the city; we're looking forward to this.
The staff of BBC Radio 6 Music have been especially kind to our group. Late last week, their own Tom Robinson asked if I would review some up and coming UK artists, and quickly (in under forty hours), for the Fresh on the Net music blog. I said yes, of course. (If any UK (i.e., not American, sadly) artists follow us, you can submit your music via the same website, which you should do. )
Two interviews with us were published over the weekend. First came our recorded interview with PhillyCAM, which was broadcast live on 106.5 last week. Dan C. and I talked with Sean and Fergy about Time Without Measure and Child of My Sorrow.

Later, Last Deaf Deaf published a conversation Christos and I had a few months back. I was oddly formal as I talked at length about my favorite authors and the Geneva bible.

Many thanks to Last Day Deaf and PhillyCAM for inviting us to chat.
Phila. friends: I'm excited to announce we'll open for Ten Fe at Milkboy Philly on March 21. That is the second day of spring. Commence getting excited, both for this show and spring.

We'll be interviewed on PhillyCAM today (Thursday, 1/17) at 6:10 p.m. Listen online via PhillyCAM or tune into 106.5 FM. Additionally, Stanford’s KZSU said our album was one of the best of 2018. We're excited for our honorary degrees, which I presume are on their way.
Our album is included in We Are Mirrors best of 2018 list, which features works by a number of artists we love. Thanks to EJ for including us in such a thoughtful piece.
We had a great time performing a long set (with two encores!) in Reading. Here are the inaugural winners of our Chairman-written, Reading-themed trivia extravaganza. It warmed my heart to hear a crowd yell "Wallace Stevens!". Hip hip.
